Rodriguez — who is a catcher/first baseman/pitcher — is batting .450 (9-for-20) with one run scored and an RBI in eight games this season. On the hill, the hurler has fanned eight batters in six innings while posting a 5.83 ERA in two outings.

The Drew Medford Memorial Baseball Tournament memorializes former Fort Worth Paschal star Drew Medford with scholarships awarded to one senior on each of the participating teams. In August of 2016, Medford lost his life in a car crash.
