The pursuit started when a Seagoville Police Officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a Chevrolet pickup for displaying wrong license plates. Holt, the driver of the truck, failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The pursuit led officers through Seagoville and Combine, and then into areas of unincorporated Dallas County.
The pursuit ended when the pickup left the road and crashed into a wooded area on South Beltline Road near the intersection of Beckett Road. Both suspects fled into a heavily wooded area on foot, but Manseau was quickly apprehended by pursuing officers. After a continued search of the wooded area, Holt was located and taken into custody.
Manseau was charged with a misdemeanor offense of Evading Arrest or Detention, while Holt was charged with two felonies – Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.
