Seagoville Police Apprehends Burglary Suspect


SEAGOVILLE – On the afternoon of November 16, 2016, the Seagoville Police Department received a call regarding a person suspecting to be burglarizing a building at Petty White Park soccer complex in the 15000 block of Clover Hill Road. When the initial officer arrived, the described suspect was seen behind the building and fled across the park and into a wooded area. It was discovered that one of the buildings had been entered by forcibly prying through a wall. Apparent articles from inside the building were being stockpiled outside.

Other officers responded to the area and established a perimeter in the vicinity. Texas Department of Public Safety aerial support assisted in the search for the suspect from a helicopter, while officers commenced a search on foot.

After a tedious search, the suspect was located hiding in dense underbrush and was taken into custody without incident. At the time of apprehension, the suspect was in possession of property kept inside the building at the park.

The suspect, a 32 year-old male, has ties to the area although is believed to be currently homeless. He was charged with one count of Burglary of a Building and transported to the Dallas County Jail.
