Gerald was born and raised in the Dallas/Seagoville area and was employed at Dunn Bros. Asphalt for over 30 years. He was a soft-hearted man with beautiful blue eyes and loved his family beyond measure. Gerald was a dirt track racing enthusiast at Devil’s Bowl Speedway for many years. He also was an expert mechanic on small engine repairs and could fix just about anything, everyone in town knew to take their lawnmowers to Gerald to be fixed. Gerald was a Christian by faith and was very vocal about the fact that he loved the Lord with all of his heart. His greatest pleasure in life were all of his nieces and nephews, he loved spending time with them and loved them as if they were his own children.
Preceding him in death are his parents Robert and Agnes Dunn, nephew, Bobby Gene Dunn II and nephew, Rickey Dunn.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Karen Dunn; siblings: Bobby Dunn and wife, Stefani; Clyde Dunn and wife, Belinda; Johnny Dunn and wife, Mary; and Kathy Dunn. Brother-in-law Ronald Lindley, sister-in-law Kandi Polk and nephew, Ronald Pomroy; his beloved dogs, Coco and Goober and a host of extended family members that will forever hold him in their hearts.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 also at Roselawn, followed by interment at Laurel Oaks Memorial Park in Mesquite.
