SEAGOVILLE – The Seagoville Dragons will be looking for their first win of the season tonight when the Adamson Leopards visits James Ray Henry Stadium in the District 12-5A opener both squads. The Homecoming Game kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
The Dragons (0-4,0-0) were blanked last Friday night by Greenville , 27-0, without the services of running back Isaiah Wright. The senior standout leads the team with 388 rushing yards.
Adamson (3-1,0-0) has notched three wins this season but faces its biggest test tonight. The Dragons torched the the Leopards, 49-7, in last year’s Homecoming Game.
Senior quarterback Luis Navarro is the biggest offensive threat for the visitors. He has thrown for 637 yards and six touchdowns, and has added 206 yards and three scores on the ground.
A pair of taalented sophomore receivers will square off. The Dragons’ Xzavier Phillips has five catches for 117 yards and a touchdown, while Adamson’s Krystifer Ross has hauled in 14 balls for 221 yards and four scores.
Seagoville has struggled with an inconsistent offense that is averaging a paltry 11.5 points an outing. However, the Leopards are allowing a whopping 330 yards a game. The Dragons’ defense has been stung by big plays so far this season and has allowed opposing teams an average of 299 yards in four games.
PREDICTION: Seagoville 38, Adamson 13
